Well, it appears that the dog's tragic death is all Cal's fault, same thing about the blackmail like difficulty of his future since Cal, himself, set the enemy's car on fire instead of telling the teachers or the principals or his parents or the police about the malevolence which created unnecessary conflicts which escalated to the dog's severe demise and super heavy executions of Cal's lifetime.
